    Alyssa,
    You don't know me. But I read your comment/question on Cjane's blog and I wanted to see if I could answer it. My name is Lisa. I have 2 little boys. I am LDS.
    What is the difference between the Catholic religion and LDS religion?
    Although there are many similarities, there are a few main differences.
    1. We believe that the same church that existed when the Savior was on the earth exists now. We believe that the direct connection to our Father in Heaven has been restored and is still in full e
    ffect today through a living prophet......just like all the prophets in ancient times in the bible.
    2. We believe that because of that direct connection which is the power of God on the earth, we are able to be sealed to our families for all eternity....not just until death do we part.

    I read a little bit about you on your profile and I want you to know that I am proud of you for facing your fears and getting help and being honest with your self. I can not imagine loosing a parent, but my dad lost his mom when he was 9 and he still deals with the affects it had on him.
    But, faith in the Savior has brought him soooo much peace and hope and comfort and he KNOWS he will see his mom again.

    Hi Alyssa, I also read your question on Cjane and while I am not a mormon or a catholic (I am a Christian) you can find some very good answers/explanations here at http://www.ondoctrine.com/conversa/3morm004.htm (or just go to www.ondoctrine.com and put in search terms) and another great website is www.lote.org(Chip Ingram) If you are looking for answers, something to fill the void, Jesus Christ can do that and the only book that can help you find him is the Holy Bible...my prayers are with you Alyssa!!!

    I wanted to post about how beautiful your photography is - you truely have a gift. I am also mormon and I can tell you that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) is led by a prophet of God, Thomas S. Monson, and that the principles of the gospel are sweet, simple and true. You can visit the web-sites that Lisa suggested - there are links on my blog. I would never try to minimize the pain and struggles that you go through, but knowing and understanding the Atonement of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father's plan for us can give us hope and strength we didn't know was possible, and will bring us peace as we face the trials of our earthly life.
